The day is finally here! That part of our journey is over. It has been 587 days, 2 hours and 4 minutes that we have had to witness our baby girl endure such a process. There were days I thought this moment would never happen. But as of January 21st, 2021, we were given the most delightful news! Drum roll... Arya is no longer on oxygen!! We are ecstatic!
We no longer have to experience sleep studies, CPAP machines, concentrators, oxygen tanks, oximeters, tender grips, overnight trends, alarms, late-night calls to the doctors, appointments with pulmonologists, sleep specialists, ENT surgeons, respiratory therapists, home health care, etc.
Today is also a very special day. It is really real. They have come to pick up all her equipment.
We are beyond blessed to be able to watch her adjust to her new sleeping routine. The routine where we are able to lay her down in her bed, tell her goodnight, give her a bottle and have that be all. The routine where there are no tubes taped to her face and around the nursery, sensors on her little feet, or tears running down her sweet face. The routine we had been praying for since day one.
This is another chapter for the books. Arya has been such a champ throughout everything. We love her so much and cannot be more proud of her. She is an extremely strong little girl. From her heart surgery to now, she has shown us what it truly means to be brave. She has overcome every obstacle put in her way. So look out world, she is going to do big things in life!
